update | Case StudyPost by Michelle Duncalf - PR and Marketing manager at Munk Studios
Its been nearly 2 months since our last post, simply because we have been so busy!
We have had a great start to the year creating X-ray people for BBC worldwide, folding and unfolding interiors for Fox and creating/animating paper people and animals for Make believe Studios.
We recently worked with producer Gosia Rokicka and creative director Mary Gregory at BBC worldwide on a Polish promo for a block of programming titled 'The truth about your body'. The brief was to create a series of small animations revealing the internal organs of various people whilst stating various facts. Luckily X-ray style animation is one of our specialities, the only thing was, it needed to be done in less than 2 weeks!!! Pryce decided to take on board
Miles Christensen, a seasoned professional in working on sleek UI and techy style graphics and has worked on some of the coolest computer game jobs in the industry, for titles such as Call of duty and resistance. We also called upon movie FUI design expert
Corey Bramall at
Decca digital in Canada to add the finishing touches. With Pryce and two of the best freelancers we could find, we worked tirelessly to produce these animations to the clients satisfaction.
Earlier in the year we played our part in the launch of
Foxplay, a video on demand service for Fox with some of our old friends Craig Ellis and Oliver Holme. The brief was to place the logo in various environments according to Olivers script. We decided to create a slow but constant camera move through the scenes maintaining a 1 point perspective as we transitioned between each environment. The script and concept was great, the only hitch was…we had 1 week to do it!!!! This was a project we accomplished with our usual fast turnaround team, Pryce Duncalf,David Flamholc and Steve Turner. With all hands on deck and a seamless workflow, we managed to pull it off. A very demanding, but pleasing project.
After recently completing an animation for a health charity with
Chris Keys at Make Believe, we were quickly asked to work on another. This ongoing project is going to be one to rant and rave about with some great characters and stories, our character work combined with the paper environment, concept and animation work by Chris is an exciting prospect. Both animations are being held back at this moment, with the intention of being released together, so watch this space.
